    Ένας εκκολαπτόμενος αναστηλωτής τέχνης ταξιδεύει σε ένα μικρό ιταλικό χωριό για να επαναφέρει έναν μεσαιωνικό πίνακα στην παλιά του αίγλη. Δεν ξέρει ότι θέτει τη ζωή της σε κίνδυνο από μια κακιά κατάρα και ένα τέρας που γεννήθηκε από μύθο και βάναυσο πόνο.
