    Η Μέλοντι Μπρουκς, ένα εκτάκι με εγκεφαλική παράλυση, είναι πνευματώδης και πανέξυπνη, αλλά επειδή δεν μιλάει και χρησιμοποιεί αμαξίδιο, δεν έχει τις ίδιες ευκαιρίες με τους συμμαθητές της.
